Smooth sign-up, decent features

I opened a Current account a few months ago, mainly for the Early Direct Deposit feature. The sign-up process was pretty straightforward online, took about 10 minutes. My Current Visa Debit Card arrived in about a week. I've used the Fee-Free Overdraft a couple times, and it really helped avoid fees. The mobile app is clean and easy to navigate, I check my balance daily. Customer support was quick to answer a question I had about the High-Yield Savings Pods when I called them up. Overall, it's been a solid banking experience for my everyday needs.

Good for early pay

I signed up for the Current Individual Account. Got my direct deposit a couple days early. The app is easy enough to use. It works as advertised.

Switched from another bank

So I finally ditched my old bank and gave Current a try. My friend told me about their Early Direct Deposit and I was like, why not? Setting up the account was super quick, just did it on my phone during lunch. The Current Visa Debit Card showed up pretty fast too. I really like how the Mobile Banking App shows everything clearly. I even started using one of the Savings Pods to squirrel away some cash for a trip. It's been way better than my old bank, no hidden fees or anything weird. Plus, getting paid a little earlier is always a win.

Hey, I'm trying to sign up for Current and saw some mentions of a sign-up bonus. How do I actually get that? Do I need a specific code or something?

P Priya N. 3 months ago
Usually, you need a referral link from someone, or an invite code when you first sign up. They don't really have like, promo codes you just type in later. Make sure to use it right away when you're making the account.

Yeah, my friend sent me a link and I got a bonus after my first direct deposit hit. I think it was like 50 bucks. Just use one of those referral links from a friend, or find one online for new users before you complete everything.

Thinking of switching to Current from Chime. Anyone have experience with both? Is it actually better for early direct deposit or overdrafts?

L Laura 2 months ago
I used Chime before Current. Honestly, Current's early direct deposit feels more consistent for me, like really early sometimes. Overdraft protection works pretty similar though, no big difference there.

Yeah, I jumped from Chime a while ago. The fee-free overdraft on Current has saved me a few times. Chime was fine but Current just feels a bit more modern, plus the pods for saving are kinda neat.
